Salary - £24,000 per annum

Our client, the University of Southampton Science Park, is the South of England’s Innovation Hub, offering a wide range of premium commercial offices, laboratories and meeting and conferencing facilities as well as business support programmes. They manage and develop the commercially run Science Park in line with the enterprise and economic growth agenda of the University of Southampton.

They are now seeking a reliable and trustworthy Business Support Administrator to join their team based in Chilworth, Hampshire. You will be responsible for the administration of the Science Park Business Support Programmes as well as providing administrative assistance (e.g. in lease negotiations and record keeping) to the Business Development Director.

Business Support Administrator, day to day duties: (including but not limited to)

  • Monitoring tenant websites and social media channels to discover news stories the Science Park can promote
  • Meeting and greeting clients and presenting offices as and when required
  • Setting up memberships of the Incubation Centre co-working spaces
  • Liaising with the Science Park’s Brand and Marketing Consultants
  • Managing Tenancy Schedule records and follow up actions
  • The Catalyst Centre Programme (overseeing business workshops; organising pitches and business review panels; setting up related agreements; liaising with business mentors and coaches)
  • Managing invoicing process for the desk occupants and the SETSquared membership
  • Assisting other team members if necessary

Business Support Administrator, perfect applicant:

  • A good standard of general education (minimum A-Levels or equivalent)
  • 2 years within similar office-based Business Support or Development role would be ideal
  • Familiarity with Xledger accounting package desired
  • Confident in the client facing environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion
  • Friendly, approachable and presentable
  • Outstanding ability to multitask with a positive “can do” attitude
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office Package
  • Driving licence

This is a full time, permanent position. The working hours are Monday to Friday 9am until 5.30pm with an hour unpaid lunch break.
