Our client, HJS Accountants, is a highly dedicated team of accountants and business advisers who specialise in creating bespoke solutions for their clients’ needs and aspirations. They engage with companies and individuals at any stage of their journey, whether it is a setup up of the business, its’ growth or exit strategy. 

To provide and develop a strong and proactive service, that generates confidence in existing and potential clients, they are now seeking for a professional and knowledgeable Business Development Manager to join their team in Southampton, Hampshire.

Business Development Manager, duties: (included but not limited to)

  • Managing clients’ portfolio within pre-agreed budgets and timescales
  • Proactively maintain clients’ relationships
  • Overseeing clients’ affairs within statutory regulations and notifying Directors as and when needed
  • Keeping Departmental Director up to date with KPI’s
  • Leading direct reporting staff - ensuring their goals and objectives are met and work reviewed before Director approval
  • Using CCH Central to collate, analyse and report on management information
  • Administrating personal and team members’ billings in accordance with budget and forecast
  • Providing documents to tax department in accordance with agreed guidelines
  • Preparing and delivering presentations for the HJS employees’ benefit
  • Developing and improving the processes and procedures as well as office systems related to this role
  • Identifying cross-selling opportunities across the business
  • Maintaining own knowledge and skills for continuous self-development

Business Development Manager, perfect applicant:

  • Full member of one of the Accounting Bodies (QBE applicants are also going to be considered)
  • In-depth experience in Client facing/Assistant Manager role or similar is essential
  • Proactive staff management and supervision skills
  • Extensive accounting knowledge (Accounts and Tax)
  • Proficient user of MS Package, Xero and Sage50 (CCH accounting system would be desirable)
  • Ambitious and focused on results with positive but professional attitude
  • Working well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and influential individual
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ambitious and driven
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills – both written and verbal

This is a full time, permanent role. Working hours are Monday to Friday flexible between 8am and 6.30pm (37.5h in total per week)
