Due to their recent restructure, they are now looking for an experienced and proactive Financial Controller to join their team in Andover, Hampshire. You will need strong analytical skills and outstanding management abilities to effectively draw out measurable and quantifiable data that can influence business decisions. You must be capable of leading the finance team to maintain the company’s day-to-day financial duties.
Financial Controller, the role:
- Managing internal financial accounting, monitoring and reporting practices and systems, and their continuous improvement
- Overseeing the management of accounts receivable and payable ledgers
- Looking after accounting, payroll, VAT and HMRC processes
- Analysing, preparing, developing and presenting monthly financial, budgeting and forecasting reports (including Group reporting)
- Reviewing the financial reports and seeking ways to reduce company costs
- Controlling the preparation of statutory accounts and liaising with auditors
- Maintaining personnel records and liaising with external HR provider
- Managing legal and statutory compliance, including ISO and Health & Safety
- Providing key contributions to the company financial strategy and decision-making processes
- Supervising, mentoring and motivating staff reporting to you
- Helping to monitor IT and company systems (together with Group IT)
- Driving the continuous improvement of your areas of responsibility
Financial Controller, the person:
- Fully qualified member of ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA
- In depth experience in a Finance management role
- Thorough and methodical attention to detail, with an analytical approach
- Be commercially savvy, with strong business awareness
- The ability to prioritise and work to deadlines and make quick but rational decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Possess sound technical skills and a high level of numeracy
- Use your initiative, problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Demonstrate positivity, approachability and have an investigative nature
- Excellent team management skills and strong leadership qualities
- Able to work as part of a team and to build strong working relationships, resolving any conflicts or issues that arise between team members
