Our Client, Lee Fire & Security Ltd is a flagship company within the New Path Fire & Security Ltd group of companies. For the last 35 years, they have been keeping businesses and homes nationwide safe from fire, theft and intrusion, offering a wide range of fire and security products to suit a variety of their customer’s needs.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a commercially minded and ambitious Finance Assistant to assist the Director of Finance in supporting the business in its growth.

Finance Assistant, the role:

• Working alongside the Director of Finance to develop the finance function, improving management information reporting
• Overseeing Accounts Payable using advanced AI character recognition technology
• Conducting weekly bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensuring accurate posting and management of expense creditors/accounts payable
• Reconciling intercompany accounts and generate sales invoices
• Credit Control – following up on overdue sales invoices
• Managing petty cash and staff expenses
• Assisting with general accounting tasks and month-end reporting
• Investigating budget vs. actual variances
• Supporting the Finance team with ad hoc cost & revenue analysis projects

Finance Assistant, the person:

• AAT Level 3 or 4 qualifications required or equivalent experience
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with good technical accounting skills
• Experience with accounting software (preferably Xero)
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical confidence
• Strong time management and organizational abilities
• Capable of working independently and under pressure
• Tech-savvy, ideally with experience in credit control tasks.
• Strong people skills and be able to build effective relationships quickly
