Our client, London CIV was established in 2015 to manage London’s Local Government Pension Scheme (‘LGPS’) assets. Their ultimate clients are the c.711,000 pensioners/future pensioners of the 32 London Boroughs, which means that what they do, day to day - makes a difference.
As at March 2024, London CIV is responsible for managing c.£32bn of pooled assets and during the last financial year generated £2.4m in fee savings. They are one of eight LGPS asset pooling companies in the UK.
They have now this amazing opportunity to join them as a HR Business Partner – a varied and true generalist role, where you will have the opportunity to lead and support on a range of BAU and HR change activities and projects including recruitment, an employee benefits review and managing outsourced payroll. You will have the opportunity to build trusted working relationships with all colleagues and a reputation, both internally and externally, as someone who is a reliable, responsive, capable and caring HR professional.
HR Business Partner, your responsibilities:
HR:
- Managing collaborative working relationships with all colleagues - acting as a valued and reliable point of contact for day-to-day HR related employee queries
- Leading and/or supporting HR projects (including implementation of the required outcomes)
- Supporting HR Director – people reporting, analytical data, drafting reports, business change activities and new/improved HR processes
- Identifying and managing risks and issues – delivering practical and pragmatic solutions
- Assisting with core HR processes – working closely with HR team to smooth onboarding and offboarding experience, managing employee benefits and renumeration offering
- Collaborating with HR and Compliance team regarding Senior Managers Certification Regime
- Leading Learning and Development activities – including training delivery or budget
- Helping HR team to comply with GDPR responsibilities
Recruitment:
- Managing end to end recruitment processes – from scoping the job description through to coordinating the interview and feedback process followed by preparing offer letters
- Looking after recruitment inbox and ensuring queries are responded to in a timely manner, and feedback is given in a fair and reasonable timeframe
- Overseeing administration of Sponsorship Licence ensuring full compliance
Payroll:
- Leading the monthly payroll process – being first point of contact with the outsourced payroll provider and employee queries; preparing monthly payroll instructions; undertaking first payroll check prior to it being signed off by the HR Director
HR Business Partner, ideal applicant:
- Experience of working in a fast paced or scale up type business
- Enjoys working autonomously as well as collaborating and being part of a small team
- In depth knowledge of managing end to end recruitment processes
- Capable of leading monthly payroll processes with an outsourced payroll provider
- Good understanding and practical administration of GDPR
- Resourceful enough to find the answers to questions, but isn’t afraid to ask them either
- Organised and efficient with their time, but also able to make time to have a chat and a laugh
- Ability to put themselves in the shoes of others, in order to deliver excellent service to employees
- Quick learner - flexible and can bring ideas of how to be even better
- Demonstratable experience of juggling busy workloads and prioritising tasks
- Client focused outlook and a can-do attitude
- Experience of SMCR in the Financial Services sector and understanding of immigration processes would be beneficial
