Our client, London CIV was established by London Local Authorities to manage London’s Local Government Pension Scheme assets back in 2015. They are delivering solutions which allow LGPS Partner Funds to invest assets on behalf of their beneficiaries, and to provide improved and more efficient investment outcomes. They will always aim to add value to the Partner Funds through offering economies of scale, greater efficiency and improved performance.
As at March 2024, London CIV is responsible for managing c.£32bn of pooled assets across the 32 London Boroughs.
Due to their continuous growth, they are now looking for a resourceful and attentive Responsible Investment Analyst to join their growing team based in London. You will support the Responsible Analyst Manager in climate risk reporting and analytics, in relation to London CIV’s own annual TCFD reporting and disclosures, quarterly investment report and client climate risk analysis.
Responsible Investment Analyst, the role:
In line with TCFD, FCA and DLUHC requirements:
- Conducting and reporting on analytical research on the impact of ESG factors on Public and Private investment performance portfolios
- Quantifying and reporting on material ESG impacts on LCIV and partner funds
- Maintaining ESG and climate analytical tools, templates and strategy monitoring
- Supporting the client relations team with RI-related inquiries
- Conveying insights and technical approaches to clients, both verbally and in writing
Responsible Investment Analyst, the person:
- Previous experience as a Data Analyst would be ideal
- Educated to a Degree level (economics, finance, natural resource economics, environmental sciences)
- A genuine interest in the impact of climate risk on portfolio performance
- Good understanding of business and how sustainability can be integrated into investor decision-making related to risk management and environmental reporting
- Proficient in using databases, Excel, and other analytical tools
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and drive change
- Strong numerical skills, paired with curiosity and an innovative problem-solving mindset
- Proven ability to plan and execute work assignments independently
- Friendly and self-motivated, with a positive "can-do" attitude
Desirable:
- Experience of working with Bloomberg, Power BI and Python
- Knowledge in engaging with corporate entities on climate risk, desirable
